Callaway Camaro Models

SC552- Automatic transmission equipped coupe or convertible, with supercharged 552 bhp, 6.2 liter L99 engine. Produces 152 horsepower more than the stock Camaro SS, with perfect drivability and validated reliability, retaining Active Fuel management for 24 mpg on the highway.
SC572- Manual transmission equipped coupe or convertible, with supercharged 572 bhp, 6.2 liter LS3 engine. If you want to shift for yourself, the SC572 provides another 20 horsepower on tap. All the features of the Camaro SS plus the exclusive system-engineered equipment developed and installed at Callaway facilities.

Powerful Engineering

Powerfully Engineered Automobiles is more than just a slogan at Callaway Cars, it’s what we do. And now this power is offered in a four-seater. Callaway Camaros are powered by supercharged variants of Chevrolet’s 6.2 liter LS3 engine with manual transmission, rated at 572 bhp, and 6.2 liter L99 engine with automatic transmission, rated at 552 bhp. With the precise engine management control that Callaway achieves with its ECM calibration and the exceptional quality level of the base car as provided by Chevrolet, 552 and 572 horsepower levels can be attained without any internal engine modifications.

Callaway Positive Displacement

Callaway has a long history with positive displacement applications. From the first BMW turbocharger systems developed by Reeves Callaway in his home-based shop in the mid-1970s, to the turbocharger system designed for Alfa Romeo used in the 1985-86 GTV-6, to the 1987-1991 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes built for Chevrolet, to the 5500 turbocharger systems designed, developed and manufactured by Callaway for the 2003-2003.5 MazdaSpeed Protegé, when it comes to providing engine performance at manifold pressures greater than 1 atmosphere, Callaway engineers have established a technological base that’s second-to-none.

To power the Callaway Camaro, our engineers adapted the Eaton TVS2300 (Twin Vortices Series) supercharger. It’s no coincidence that the Corvette ZR1, Cadillac CTS-V and the Camaro ZL1 use the same Eaton-manufactured supercharger internals. The Roots-style configuration provides a remarkable increase in peak power and an exceptionally broad, flat torque curve that is unequalled by centrifugal or twin screw superchargers. The high-helix angle, four-lobe TVS rotor design provides higher efficiency than any of its predecessors while retaining bulletproof reliability. The unique air-to-liquid intercooler design, integral with the intake manifold base, significantly lowers charge air temperature to further increase power and prevent engine-damaging detonation. To reduce power-robbing parasitic drag, an internal bypass diverts the inlet air flow path during idle, low-load cruising and deceleration, allowing the supercharger internals to spin freely. Consequently, Callaway Camaro fuel mileage is practically unchanged from stock Camaro fuel mileage. Callaway’s engine management calibration provides perfect street manners and emissions compliance in all 50 states (CARB E.O. D-488-17). Callaway’s optional limited Powertrain Service Contract extends coverage to 5 years or 100,000 miles, confirming Callaway’s confidence in this systems-engineered package

Le Mans GT Brakes  Callaway Camaro

Callaway Le Mans GT rotors are slotted to evacuate dust and gases for maximum pad contact, while avoiding the cracking prevalent in drilled rotors. Their 380 mm front and 355 mm rear diameters provide additional surface area and their increased mass provides greater capacity to absorb heat. Patented internal cooling vanes provide up to 80% more airflow than stock rotors for increased heat dissipation. Anodized aluminum hats serve to reduce overall rotor weight.

Six-piston front and four-piston rear caliper design provides increased clamping force while differential piston sizes minimize pad taper. Computer-aided finite element analysis was utilized to design caliper forgings with exceptional stiffness. A patented, bolt-in bridge further provides rigidity, virtually eliminating any distortion. Contour machining processes remove excess material to minimize mass and unsprung weight. A hard-coat anodized finish resists corrosion, extending durability and maintaining as new appearance. Callaway installation includes pad/rotor bed-in procedure.

The results are shorter stopping distances, optimum front-to-rear brake bias, extended pad and rotor life, and firmer pedal feel with practically zero fade. You’ll feel the difference the first time you step on the brake pedal.

Callaway Camaro Suspension

Level 1 & Level 2 Systems – Two suspension systems are offered. The Level 1 system significantly improves ride and handling but limits adjustability to simplify operation. The Level 2 system is equipped with double-adjustable dampers with independent rebound and compression settings.

Adjustability – In both Level 1 and Level 2 systems, dampers are manufactured with stainless steel, monotube bodies for extended durability and corrosion resistance. The Level 2 option adds 10-position adjustability of compression damping, 7-position adjustability of front rebound damping and 10-position adjustability of rear rebound damping. The external reservoirs increase fluid volume and allow cooler, more consistent operation. This allows Callaway technicians to establish optimum ride height, pitch attitude, cross-weighting, and anti-roll bar stiffness during each installation, and also allows fine-tune compression and rebound damping, independently.

Advanced damper design – Damper pistons are 46 mm in diameter and damper stroke is increased over OE for extended wheel travel. Damper internals are machined to extremely precise dimensions, providing highly accurate, predictable fluid control. Bushing durometer has been selected to restrict deflection for solid ride while avoiding harshness.

Properly tuned springs – Both Level 1 and Level 2 systems come with adjustable coil springs. Ride height is set by Callaway at 25 mm lower than original equipment, via adjustable spring perches. With Level 1 systems, progressive spring rates are employed both front and rear, resulting in a front rate variance of between -14% and +35% and -21% to +31% in the rear, as compared to original equipment springs. With Level 2 systems, linear rate springs are used, with +36% increased rate in front and +25% increased rate in rear.

Balanced for neutral handling – The same anti-roll bars are used with Level 1 and Level 2 systems. The front anti-roll bar is two-position adjustable and the rear bar is three-position adjustable. Callaway’s standard configuration yields a 262% rate increase over original equipment in the front and 174% over the original equipment rear bar for improved turn-in and balance while maintaining excellent ride quality.

All Callaway Camaro suspension systems include factory calibration for aggressive street driving with firm, but not harsh, ride quality. Callaway factory installation also includes precision four-wheel alignment. Callaway Camaro owners are invited to experiment with the settings to their particular liking.

The Carbon Solution

To support the Callaway Camaro’s increased power, Callaway engineers developed several air management devices designed to improve stability at high speeds. Their expertise in aerodynamic surfaces produced some highly effective body components: front splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser. The decision to utilize carbon fiber reinforced polymer was an easy one, exploiting Callaway Carbon’s and Callaway Competition’s material and production expertise. These optional carbon body panels are not only stunning in appearance but are clearly the superior technical solution.

The optional carbon PowerWindow employs high grade tempered glass to give you a clear view of your Callaway Camaro’s powerplant, adding to this car’s unique presentation. The PowerWindow is only available on Callaway Camaros and is not sold separately.

Callaway maintains a database that includes every Callaway C16, Callaway Corvette, Callaway Camaro and Callaway SportTruck it has produced, beginning with the first Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes built for Chevrolet in 1987. Each of these records includes the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), as well as other specific vehicle information, including a chronicle of telephone and e-mail correspondence between Callaway personnel and each owner since the vehicle purchase. If someone needs to confirm whether a Callaway Camaro is authentic, they can call our Connecticut office with the car’s VIN. Other information is not shared without the explicit permission of the current owner.

In addition, Callaway Camaro emblems and many other components are manufactured exclusively for the Callaway Camaro and cannot be purchased separately. This is another element that makes cloning impossible. Callaway Camaro supercharger serial numbers are also kept in Callaway’s electronic database and correspond to cars’ specific VIN’s.
