Hard to believe it’s been 90 years since Peterson’s opened the doors in downtown Boise in 1928. Our start was serendipitous as LG Peterson had a choice to make back in the late 20’s. LG was offered the Durant distributorship either in Boise, Idaho or Phoenix, Arizona in 1928, and eventually A Hudson distributorship in 1933. Surprisingly, in 1928 Boise and Phoenix were the same size. He chose to keep the family’s roots in Idaho and packed up and moved Peterson Motor Company to Boise–down on 12th and Main.
Now four generations strong, Peterson Chevrolet is part of our ten brands, five-store auto group. Chevy, Buick and Cadillac are a recent chapter in the Peterson history (2006) but a big part of Peterson’s launch into the car business.
LG Peterson started selling Durant’s back in Idaho Fall’s in the early 1920’s. William C. Durant was one of the pioneer’s of the modern day General Motors which the Chevrolet moniker resides under. So, Chevy is in our blood and a big part of our beginning.
Thanks for helping us make it to a spry 90. We look forward to many more.
